Caroline - A new musical
Eastern Angles is creating a rural digital release of Caroline — the very first production from the East Anglian Touring Consortium — bringing this vibrant new musical to communities across the region and beyond.
This new digital release will enable small rural venues, village halls, cinemas, and film clubs to host special screening events, creating shared, in-person experiences even in places where live touring theatre is not always possible. Designed specifically for community settings, the project supports local organisers to bring high-quality theatre to their audiences, strengthening cultural life in rural areas. Eastern Angles hope is to build a digital screening network as part of its continuous long-standing commitment to rural touring, access, and community storytelling, reimagining how theatre can reach audiences in a changing world.

A radio station for young people! Why do we need that
Caroline dreams of something more than stacking shelves at the local greengrocers. Her days are routine, but her nights come alive, walking the pier, sharing laughs with her best friend Mary, and spinning records with Robbie, her music-mad boyfriend who’s big on charm but short on direction.
But a music revolution is coming, and Robbie lands a shock gig with Radio Caroline—the pirate radio station blasting pop, soul and rock ’n’ roll from a ship off the Essex coast and suddenly everything changes. Caroline is swept into a tidal wave of music, mayhem and a movement that would shake up British culture forever.
Set to a soundtrack of iconic hits from the 60’s, Caroline is a vibrant, heart-warming and rebellious new musical about love, ambition and discovering your own voice.
She’s not a DJ. She’s not a rock star. But in the middle of Britain’s radio revolution, Caroline might just steal the show.
Caroline was developed with the support of the National Theatre’s Generate programme.

A drama group for over 50s
Third Act is a weekly group for people over 50 to explore their creativity through theatre in a low pressure and supportive environment. Whether you enjoy acting, writing, movement, theatrical design, directing or are looking for an opportunity to try something new - Third Act is the place for you.
The group meets every Thursday 11am-12.30pm (school term time only) at the Eastern Angles Centre.
This group is free to join, tickets are Pay What You Can. Any donations that you are able to make ensure that our community engagement projects can remain free of charge.

Join Yogability for sessions that will relax the mind and body as well as delight the senses. These sessions will include a range of activities, such as:

Guided Massage & Essential Oil Making with Lorna Garside, 10am-12.30pm
Learn how to work on your own sore muscles and joints with guidance from Lorna Garside Soft Tissue Therapy. We’ll create an easy-going, friendly space where you can’t fail, and where all you need to do is go with the flow. With elements of stretching, myofascial release, aromatherapy and exploration, you’ll leave relaxed and with the ability to treat you own pain.
Daytime Disco, 10am-12.30pm
Why wait until nighttime to party?
Join us for a daytime disco with Eastern Angles resident DJ KAY TEE who will be playing back-to-back dance floor fillers to move and groove to! Dance like no one’s watching in a safe and fun environment where we celebrate the joy of music and dancing together. At the daytime disco all dance moves are great dance moves so don’t be shy, come along and get your groove on!
Expect to hear classics from DJ KAY TEE that span the ages, cross all genres and are sure to get you chucking those shapes across the floor!
Non-alcoholic refreshments will be available.

Playwrights Club is free to join and open to everyone aged 16+. Monthly sessions are led by Eastern Angles Artistic Director Jake Smith and run 6-7.30pm. All sessions are held online only via Zoom.
A Zoom link will be sent out at 24 hours before the start of the session. If you book after this time please get in touch and we’ll email you the link directly.
Please note August 10th session is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Sessions are pay what you can. You will be able to select from either a £0, £5, £10 or £15 ticket. Alternatively, you can use the donation box to select a custom amount. Your donations will help to ensure that our engagement and participation programme remain free and open to all.

Young Oliver dares to ask for more and is thrust into a thrilling adventure that sees him travel from rural Suffolk to bustling Victorian London, a journey filled with danger, humour and hope. Packed with unforgettable characters and heart, Oliver Twist is a perfect Christmas treat for families – a joyful story about kindness, courage and finding home.
Told through the eyes of four workhouse children living in the Plomesgate Union Workhouse, just outside Wickham Market, the story blends regional history with one of literature’s most loved classics.
Following our critically acclaimed adaptations of A Christmas Carol and Treasure Island, the production features a brilliant ensemble of professional actors, multi-roling, puppetry, inventive staging and live music.
Drawing on Suffolk’s heritage and Dickens’ enduring heart, audiences are in for a festive treat. Don’t pick pockets – book early while tickets remain.
