Don’t Panic! Don’t Panic!

Two Rivers Theatre Company March on Stage with an Explosive Production of Dad’s Army

Following previous successes with The Vicar of Dibley and Fawlty Towers, Two Rivers are once again bringing iconic television history to the Sir John Mills Theatre with a bang byrecreating episodes of the famous BBC TV series Dad’s Army.

The cast of over 20 draws in members from other local amateur dramatic groups. Director, Val Eldridge, has brought together a talented and wide ranging cast from veterans to new recruits making their debut on stage.

Many familiar faces will be marching the boards including the platoon led by Captain Mainwaring, the debonair Wilson, the enthusiastic Jones, the gentle Godfrey, the Scottish fireball Fraser, the wrangling Walker and the hapless Pike all uniting on stage

Who could ever forget the famous catchphrases such as "Don’t panic", "We’re doomed", and "You stupid Boy"? They are synonymous with Dad’s Army and the wartime era. They will be ringing out again in three episodes especially rewritten for the stage by the original writers including; The Deadly Attachment, Mum’s Army and The Godiva Affair.

The evening of comedy entertainment will be rounded off with a recreation of The Floral Dance performed at the Royal Variety show in 1975 which will see the entire ensemble on stage for a toe tapping performance.

In their 20th year of performances and with the 50th Anniversary of the first ever episode rapidly approaching Two Rivers Theatre Company can’t wait to recreate the magic of Dad’s Amy for you! Follow Two Rivers Theatre Company on Facebook, or on Twitter @TwoRvsTheatreCo.
