Funding Alert!

10 September 2020

Eastern Angles is delighted to announce that we’ve been awarded funding from the National Lottery Heritage Emergency Fund, specifically to address and support the impact of Covid-19 on our organisation.

The funding will enable us to move into our new space on Gatacre Road as soon as the Suffolk Record Office vacate and to make the beautiful Grade II listed building welcoming, safe and a new vibrant heritage and arts facility for the local community. As part of that we will be delivering a large-scale community project, highlighting that we are ‘open for business’ and arousing the interest of the local community. More on the details of the project in the coming weeks, all we can say for now is keep an eye on the windows...

Ivan Cutting, Artistic Director shared his hopes for the centre: ‘This expansion has been a long time in the planning and was almost thwarted due to the pandemic, we hope that through the centre we can support wider community development in the West End of Ipswich.’

We're very grateful to the National Lottery players and in turn this Emergency Fund we believe we can get through this difficult time. The new Centre is a beacon of hope and will become an important arts and heritage hub for Ipswich and the region.
