Eastern Angles is looking for three actors for Treasure Island, their upcoming Christmas 2025 production.
Written by Robert Louis Stevenson and adapted by Jake Smith, this production will be directed by Kirsty Tallent.
Auditions will take place at the Eastern Angles Centre in Ipswich Tuesday 5th August.
Treasure Island
Treasure Island‘s timeless tale of pirates, lost treasure maps, mutiny and heroism comes to Suffolk in this brand-new adaption inspired by the lost town of Dunwich for Christmas 2025.
One of the greatest feats of storytelling in the English language, with characters such as the dastardly Long John Silver and the heroic Jim Hawkins. Immerse yourself in this festive staging of Treasure Island, a coming-of-age story that will captivate both adults and children with all the trimmings of Eastern Angles Christmas Productions – innovative staging, storytelling, songs, music, puppetry and cast of fabulous actors.

Long John Silver / Grandma / Grandpa (and as cast)
A menacing one-legged pirate with strong and wiry hair.
Gender neutral casting. Playing age 25+.
Desirable skills: plays guitar, drums and/or piano.
*For this role we will prioritise actors with a lived experience of disability.
Billy Bones / Ben Gunn / Captain Flint (parrot and as cast)
A weathered and surly seaman.
Gender neutral casting. Playing age 25+.
Desirable skills: plays guitar, accordion, flute and/or piano.
*Puppetry experience desired
Captain (and as cast)
A sharp-looking captain with a stern, strict and moral characters.
Gender neutral casting. Playing age 25+.
Desirable skills: plays guitar, accordion, flute and/or piano.
A form of training in acting for the stage is desirable but not essential.
This will be a professional contract and paid at the ITC Equity Performers rate of £601 (inclusive) per week.
Rehearsal dates: Monday 3rd – Wednesday 26th November 2025
Production dates: Thursday 27th November 2025 – Saturday 3rd January 2026 at The Studio @ EA in Ipswich, Wednesday 7th – Saturday 10th January 2026 at Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. View public performance schedule. There will be some schools-only performances in addition to these.
