Do I stay or do I go?

The Xmaseve Project : The story so far

Every Xmaseve town centre bars and village pubs fill up with young people returning to their old haunts. Those who have moved away to jobs, college or loved ones meet up with those who have stayed, while those yet to decide on their future watch their peers act out the consequences of their decisions to stay or go.

Workshops on this theme with more than 40 groups of 16-24 year-olds have helped writer Phil Michell create six characters: Michaela, Denise, Sam, Luke, Matt and Rebecca.  Their story weaves in and out of the present, the region and their desire to plan their lives.

Previously on East Anglian Psychos:

Rebecca and Luke (formerly an item) were at school together. As were Denise and Michaela, two years below. Having been let loose on the world, Rebecca has gone off to Uni, Denise is thinking about whether to go while her brother Luke returns, then goes, then... and Michaela is stalking the town like a raptor. Sam has stopped moving around long enough to hate her size. Matt is restoring a greenhouse.

Now:

Sam is in front of the mirror

Matt is still tending his greenhouse

Rebecca is deciding whether to come back for Christmas

Michaela is baiting bouncers

Luke is riding the sparklehorse

But they all swear to meet up again on Xmaseve at Jojo’s…
