Written by Simon Longman and directed by Scott Hurran (Eastern Angles Artistic Associate) Patient Light follows a day in the life of a young person in Peterborough and how their vision of the future is blinded by carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. The play examines our need for aspiration, and how to use the world’s frustrations to your advantage.
‘We just wait. Old light. And new light. We just wait. For each other, patiently wait.’
Patient Light is a brand-new audio sensory experience, that will preview at the Undercroft before a schools tour next year. Visitors will listen on headphones to the show and experience an immersive sound design using binaural technology. The aim is for audiences to sit immersed in the set design and atmospheric lighting design whilst listening to performances pre-recorded by actors set against a sound design.
