The Long Way Home

Wed 17 Feb 2010 - Sat 22 May 2010

A heart-warming story about friendship through adversity.

Let us tell you a story about...a spirited woman from a faraway village and her journey through forests and over steep mountains back to the seaside community of her childhood. As she walks under the clear blue skies, 'old mother' meets an abandoned dog-boy and a tender friendship is forged...an unlikely union of innocence and experience.

On their travels the old woman and the boy encounter a series of strange and unsettling characters - a distraught mother, a proud farmer, dangerous bandits and ghosts from the past all fighting their own personal battles.

Using powerful, elemental imagery, Charles Way creates an exciting and colourful story of love and adversity set against a landscape of extremes.

Charles Way is an award-winning writer of over thirty plays. Eastern Angles audiences will remember his wonderfully atmospheric play IN THE BLEAK MIDWINTER which toured the East of England back in 2000.
