Frumenty Folk Band

Sat 27 Jul 2019 - Sun 28 Jul 2019
  • Age Guidance:All ages
  • Duration:45 min sessions

Our festival house band this year is Frumenty! Come and enjoy their lovely harmonies and happy summer melodies.

Frumenty are Geoff, Helen, Paul and Yasmin - all based down the road in Folksworth. This fabulous, folky foursome will perform their favourite summer classics along with songs telling tales from round here and traditional dance tunes collected locally. Did you know Boiled Egg and Rook Pie was a delicacy not so very long ago. Listen out for the song to find out more! Just don't tell the rooks at Norman Cross!

You, however, are in for a real treat! With Helen on flute, Geoff on mandolin, Paul on the mandola (the mando’s big brother) and Yasmin on guitar and all manner of percussion, Frumenty have been delighting audiences far and wide for many years. The band can’t wait to present their own brand of folk mixed in with a little bit of local knowledge and lots of laughter at this new summer festival on their doorstep.

We challenge you not to be tapping your toes as you enjoy the event … and don’t be surprised if you find yourself singing and dancing along!

Frumenty will play on Silver Hill throughout Saturday and Sunday:

Saturday 27 July: 11.15, 13.15, 14.45
Sunday 28 July: 11.45, 14.45

This event is FREE.

This event is part of The Undercroft Weekender - 26th - 28th July 2019
