Who are Eastern Angles?

We’re the regional touring theatre company for the East of England. Find out more about us here. We’re based at the Eastern Angles Centre in Ipswich on Gatacre Road and have a base in Peterborough at Chauffeur’s Cottage on St. Peter’s Road.

When is your Box Office open?

Our Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 10am until 2pm. You can get in contact with our Box Office by either calling 01473 211498 or coming to the Eastern Angles Centre in person during these hours. You can book tickets online anytime.

Where do I pick up tickets?

For the Sir John Mills Theatre in Ipswich, you can pick tickets up from our Box Office in the Eastern Angles Centre anytime from 10am-2pm Mon-Fri or on the show night before the performance starts.

For The Undercroft in Peterborough, tickets to collect from the Box Office will only be available on the night of the performance at the venue. The Box Office is located in the main entrance of the theatre. This is the same for reserved tickets too.

Please check before you come to a show as to whether it is sold out or not, by checking our website or calling Box Office on 01473 211498 (Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm). Most shows are sold through our Ipswich Box Office and you can pay on the door if you are unable to book beforehand.

When booking any tickets, you will always have the option to have tickets posted to you for an additional cost.

Give our Box Office a call and we can try to send them again. Ring 01473 211498 Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm). Alternatively, bring your ticket confirmation with you to the performance and we can re-print them for you.

What is your policy on refunds?

Tickets may not be exchanged or refunded. If an event is sold out, tickets may be exchanged up to 7 days before the performance. There will be a £2 admin charge per transaction.

Where is the Sir John Mills Theatre?

The Sir John Mills Theatre is within the Eastern Angles Centre located on Gatacre Road, off Bramford Road. We are in the Victorian school building that was the former home of the Suffolk Records Office.

Does the Eastern Angles Centre have a car park?

Yes. Parking is free and there is overflow space. We recommend arriving early to performances to secure a space. To locate the car park, go down Gatacre Road and on the right hand side are large blue gates. Enter the car park from here.

The car park is full, where else can I park?

Other car parks nearby which are pay and display include: South Street Car Park (10 min walk to theatre), Portman Road Car Park (16 min walk to theatre) or Crown Car Park (20 mins walk to theatre).

Do you have disabled parking at the Eastern Angles Centre?

The car park does have one accessible car parking space (a wider bay which is clearly marked). This is situated towards the entrance of the Eastern Angles Centre (turn right when you first drive into the car park).  We advise audience members who cannot walk very far to park close to the entrance of the car park to reduce the distance to our front door.

Does the Eastern Angles Centre have disabled access?

The front door of the Eastern Angles Centre is situated on the car park side of the building (rather than the blue door on Gatacre Road). This can be accessed via the car park or the blue gates on Bramford Road. Following the corridors through to the building you will not need to climb any steps to reach the theatre.

The exit door nearest the theatre does have a step down to the main street outside. This is the blue door on Gatacre Road that used to be our main entrance. We have a ramp that can be put in place if needed. As a listed building we are unable to place a permanent ramp on the front of the building, however our removable ramp can be used at any time, simply ask the Front of House Manager or ring us prior to your visit to let us know. We also have a disabled access toilet at the theatre.

If you need to book a wheelchair seat, please ring Box Office ahead of your booking on 01473 211498 (Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm) so we can arrange theatre seating accordingly.

Do you have British Sign Language (BSL) performances?

Yes. We aim to have at least one BSL performance on our touring shows. For our Christmas show this tends to be at the Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge. For our Spring Tour, it will be a date during the run at Ipswich at the Sir John Mills Theatre. If you require any further assistance, please call Box Office on 01473 211498 (Mon-Fri, 10am-2pm). An induction loop for the hearing-impaired is available on request by calling the same number.

Where is The Undercroft?

The Undercroft is located at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Peterborough. Enter the shopping centre from the entrance by H&M and Boots. Turn left towards the food court and go down the escalators. On the left you’ll see all our posters with what’s on and the entrance to the theatre.

Does The Undercroft have a car park and is there disabled parking?

Yes. The Undercroft is located at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Peterborough. There is a large free car park. It is 24 hours from Monday to Saturday and on Sundays until 4pm. There are large disabled parking bays too.

Does The Undercroft have disabled access?

Yes it does. The Undercroft is completely on the flat and accessible via a lift in the food court area of the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre. The Serpentine Green Shopping Centre also has accessible parking bays close to the store. Always ask a member of the Serpentine Green security for any help as well as Eastern Angles staff. There are no steps at all in the theatre.

Are you contactless?

We have a contactless bar at the Sir John Mills Theatre in Ipswich. We take card payments for all ticket bookings and use chip and pin for our tickets at the Sir John Mills Theatre. We currently only take cash on the door at The Undercroft.

It is a cash only bar at all other venues.

Forgotten your cash? Don’t worry - there’s a cash point at Lloyds Bank across the road junction in Ipswich and plenty of Tesco cash points in Serpentine Green for The Undercroft.

Can I hire your theatre?

Yes you can. The Sir John Mills Theatre in Ipswich hosts fellow professional theatre companies, amateur groups, talks and small gigs. If you’re interested in hiring the building, email our Theatre Manager detailing the event, dates and times and any technical requirements.

You can also hire The Undercroft in Peterborough. Email our General Manager with more details on your event.

Are your seats available to hire?

Yes they are. We regularly supply seats at events such as the Suffolk Show and Pulse Festival at the New Wolsey Theatre. If you have an event where you need seating, get in touch with our Production Manager.
