A busy end to 2022

19 January 2023

December 2022 was a month of firsts for Eastern Angles as we gave life to our long-held ambition of doing a family Christmas show and launched our first Eastern Angles Young Creatives (EAYC) programme.

Ten days after taking our final wander in the dark, dark woods with Little Red and her fairytale friends, we're taking a look back at this wonderful show. From 8th December - 7th January, our fabulous cast - Anoush Kendrick, Bronte Tadman, Harvey Robinson and Fatima Jawara - performed to schools and families in Ipswich. Together they brought warm smiles and awesome howls to the Sir John Mills Theatre all Christmas!

We had some wonderful feedback for the show from press, public and schools:

"First-rate entertainment"

And it wasn't just a busy time in the Sir John Mills Theatre - in the rest of the Eastern Angles Centre our rooms were busy with hires and community workshops, as well as the final sessions of our Homework Club and our first EAYC programme in the week before Christmas. The launch of EAYC was a big, proud moment for us as it kickstarted our ambitious new programme of creative opportunites for young people aged 7-25. This first programme, for those aged 7-12, was all about Creative Storytelling with Chapter 82. After a week of activities ranging from drama, drawing and writing, the final day was a chance for the young people to share their work with family and friends in a celebration event.

We've got some really exciting plans for 2023 including the launch of the 13-17 and 18-25 year old strands of EAYC so stay tuned for more details about these coming up soon.
