Could you be a theatre volunteer?

14 September 2022

Our theatre volunteers are a vital part of performances at the Sir John Mills Theatre - they are the life and blood of the Front of House experience, bringing smiles and positivity to all of our audiences (and staff!). As we get ready for the Christmas season to get underway, we're on the lookout for some new volunteers to join our wonderful team and help us bring the magic of theatre to Ipswich this winter.

What do our volunteers do?

  • Create a positive customer experience for all audiences
  • Sell refreshments behind the bar
  • Be a steward/usher during shows

We're holding two meet ups for volunteers for you to meet the team and find out about joining us:

Sunday 16th October, 2pm OR Monday 17th October, 7pm

At the Sir John Mills Theatre (Eastern Angles Centre), Gatacre Road, Ipswich IP1 2LQ

If you've got any questions or would like to register your interest in volunteering with us, please contact our Theatre & Volunteers Manager Jon: email jon@easternangles.co.uk or phone 01473 218202.

Welcoming this year's Christmas show Little Red

An energetic retelling of a classic fairytale, Little Red follows our title character’s walk on (and off) the path to Grandma’s house. With a homemade pie in her basket, Little Red meets talking sheep, dancing trees and a jazz-singing banjo-playing Mr Wolfie on her journey.

With energetic music and cool nods to friends from across the fairytale world, Little Red is not your usual walk through the woods. And it’s a fun alternative to the traditional panto that will entertain all the family this Christmas.
