10 September 2013
SITE INFORMATION
DARK EARTH at FLAG FEN - more information available on the Flag Fen website.
We hope you have a fantastic time at Dark Earth. Here is some information which should help you enjoy the performance even more:
Flag Fen is a unique place and we need to treat it well. You may need to walk across grass or woodchippings to get to your seat, so please come with sensible footwear and allow for the fact that depending on weather conditions it could be cold in the marquee, so dress accordingly!
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Flag Fen site.
Visitors are expected to stay on the paths where possible and be respectful of the natural flora and fauna and the archaeological nature of the site.
All litter must be placed in the appropriate bins.
The site also plays host to livestock - please be aware and do not approach or distress the animals.
With the exception of guide dogs, no pets are allowed on-site.
REFRESHMENTS: Flag Fen Visitor Centre has a Coffee Shop on site , selling hot drinks and wrapped snacks. Please note that hot food or sandwiches are not available on site.
Tickets for Dark Earth include entry to Flag Fen 90 minutes prior to the show. Why not bring a picnic to eat in the grounds?

Flag Fen can be accessed by bicycle and foot via the Green Wheel (approximately 5 miles or 1.5 hours from Peterborough Railway and Bus Station on foot and 45 minutes by bicycle).
Unfortunately, there is no bus route to Flag Fen. Taxis from the City Centre cost approximately £8 each way.
By car Flag Fen can be accessed from Junction 5 of the A1139 or via the B1040 from Whittlesey or Thorney, turning at the Dog in the Doublet Pub. Brown signs direct travellers from Peterborough but not from Whittlesey or Thorney. Please be aware that some satellite navigation systems have, in the past, sent visitors to the wrong address when using Flag Fen's postcode. We recommend you check your directions before leaving.
PARKING - There is plenty of parking at Flag Fen, next to the Visitors Centre, and an overflow car park just round the corner.
