Dark Earth: Design Opportunities

22 July 2013

We have a number of opportunities for members of the public to be involved with the design of our forthcoming community show, Dark Earth.

Puppet Making Workshops

Come along and help create puppets to bring the wildlife and magic of the fens to life!
No experience necessary

Sunday Aug 4th, 11th and 18th 11-1.00pm at the John Mansfield Centre, Western Avenue, PE1 4HG

Skilled and talented artists wanted!
We are looking for people to take on specific puppet making tasks that they can take away and do at home

· Could you sculpt a life like Hare's skull?

  • Could you make a mechanism for a dogs moving tail?
  • Can you weave baskets using willow?
  • Do you have wood carving skills?

If so please get in touch!

Objects needed!
We are looking for old objects that could have a new life as part of a puppet
Do you have any of the following unwanted items that could be donated to the show?

Walking sticks with knob tops
Old tools with wooden handles (it's the wood part we want not the metal so can be rusty and broken)
Wooden smoking pipes
Metal scoops

If you have any queries please email Dark Earths puppet designer Polly here
