Dark Earth: No Sign Of Flagging As Dark Earth Enters Its Second Week
20 September 2013Into the second week and another two full houses for Dark Earth, currently performing at Flag Fen in Peterborough. And, even better, the weather forecast says no rain expected for our last performances! There are still some tickets left for the Saturday and Sunday performances but hurry as they're selling out fast!
So far, it's been a real adventure on site at Flag Fen - the atmospheric surroundings, the wonderful archaeological mysteries on site, and the theatre marquee, a big white box on the outside, but when you step past the threshold it opens out, TARDIS-like, to reveal the landscape of the fens, and the world of the play.
The reviews have been uniformly excellent(see the reviews section), and the local cast and crew have risen magnificently to the challenge of performing Forbes Bramble's evocative play in such an unusual setting. We really couldn't have done it without the sterling hard work and inspirational commitment of the local Peterborough performers and crew.
And, once the marquee is packed away on Sunday night, we start work on our next Peterborough-inspired community show, River Lane, when there will be even more opportunities for Peterborough folk to get involved. Watch this space!
