Eastern Angles & Harwich Haven at Ipswich Maritime This Weekend

15 August 2019

We’re going to be attending the Ipswich Maritime Festival this weekend with Harwich Haven: Surrender & Sanctuary’s Food Wars project.

The team from Harwich Haven will be with their exhibition trailer – exploring food and the battle for bread in the First World War.

Throughout the weekend, you can read, smell and see what food was like back then and how rationing affected the population.

Eastern Angles will be there too with excerpts of Oh, What a Lovely Food War throughout Saturday and Sunday. See what the Great British Bake Off would have been like during the war with the perils of rationing and potato flour for technical bakes!

Performance times on Saturday and Sunday: 12pm, 12.45pm, 2pm & 2.45pm

The festival itself is on Ipswich Waterfront on Saturday 17th 10am– 10pm and Sunday 18th August, 10am-6pm. It is free to attend.

See the full version of Oh, What A Lovely Food War & an extra play Saving Our Bacon in Ipswich from 10th – 14th September.
