Eastern Angles Theatre Company Statement

9 August 2024

"It’s been a disturbing and unsettling week for everyone in our communities, but especially those who feel targeted by the far-right rhetoric, violence and vandalism. These events have affected us all and reminded us that it’s important to stand together, support each other and ensure that there are safe spaces for everyone.

We know we have a special duty to those directly affected and we are committed to supporting them as best as we can.

As a professional theatre company, we are proud to work and perform across East Anglia working with and for people of every race, faith and belief.  We are committed to showcasing the strength and beauty of unity and inclusion through our collaborations, our plays, our work at the Eastern Angles Centre and through our audiences and our staff.

We understand our role is more important than ever in continuing to be a regionally focussed theatre company with a broad world view in our approach to creating work with communities and artists across East Anglia."

Alison Stewart MBE, Chair of Eastern Angles
