Eastern Angles Young Creatives programme is recruiting!

9 November 2023

Future Directors, Actors, Producers, Designers, Writers, Theatre Makers, Artists: Eastern Angles Young Creatives Programme is recruiting!

If you are aged 18-25, have or want to build a connection with Eastern Angles or live in Ipswich and want to start a creative career, we'd love to meet you.

As a member of our Young Creatives scheme you will get the opportunity to participate in industry mentored sessions to upskill your aspiring future creative career.

Expressions of interest are open to young professionals who are interested in creative-based expression and experience.

We are looking to create a group keen to have full access to weekly theatre-based masterclasses with Suffolk based industry professionals, (evenings 5-8pm, starting in January 2024).

This is a chance for those interested to develop their skills in the following: creative writing, acting, stage-management, design, producing, and directing, with a key focus on how these tools can translate into a creative career path.

This will lead towards the curation of mini projects which are for and by young people.

By starting in the New Year is the cohort will have full exposure to the development of our new Spring Tour production.

Separate to the programme content, our cohort will also form our Youth Advisory Board which will meet once a month to:

  • Be a voice - for young people & how Eastern Angles can best represent them.
  • Provide an insight – about what matters to children and young people.
  • Raise awareness – to help other young people understand our work.

One young representative will also be part of our full board to articulate the needs of their cohort and propose ideas to our CEO & board of Trustees on how we best represent them moving forward.

Finally, Eastern Angles will also offer employment opportunities during and beyond the programme.

How to sign up:

Join our welcome workshop on Friday 15th December, 4pm at the Eastern Angles Centre. At this workshop you’ll engage and participate in all areas of the programme, exploring what areas you may be most interested in. This session is designed as an opportunity for potential programme participants to meet the Eastern Angles team, and for us to meet you.

After the session there will also be the chance to watch a performance of our Christmas production Rumplestiltskin at the Sir John Mills Theatre.

To sign up for our welcome workshop, please get in touch with our Associate Director (Engagement & Participation) Callum Berridge by emailing callum@easternangles.co.uk, or phone the Eastern Angles team on 01473 211498.

The Eastern Angles Young Creatives programme is made possible thanks to funding from Ipswich Borough Council.
