Emerging Talent Residency: Cold Shoulder

4 September 2020

Emily Smith and Hannah Gooden are the co-directors of new emerging theatre company, Cold Shoulder. Since forming at De Montfort University in 2019, where they instantly bonded over their love and passion for unconventional, gritty theatre, the two joined forces to create boundary-pushing, authentic and challenging theatre, with audience experience at the forefront of everything they create.

Residency
Cold Shoulder plan on exploring the intermedial relationship of technology and gender through various performance practices. Interrogating the tensions that exist between the two expansive subjects, Emily and Hannah aim to create a short interactive piece, as well as build their online presence to further engage and navigate their topics and theatrical journey!

This residency is part of a pilot programme in Peterborough which tests out supported residencies for early career artists. It is run in partnership with Metal and University Centre Peterborough.
