Hampton Folk Tales

15 May 2017

This year Eastern Angles and Peterborough’s Lamphouse Theatre are joining forces to help the residents of Hampton create a folk history.

The newly developed township of Hampton is built on Peterborough’s old brick pits. It’s a busy, thriving area full of people from all walks of life. It has schools, shopping centres, churches, parks, even our very own Undercroft Theatre, but it doesn’t have any folklore. It’s so new, it has no myths, no legends.

The fens is an area full of unusual and mysterious tales and it didn't seem fair that Hampton was missing out!

People from all over Hampton will join professional artists for workshops and activity days to create mythical characters, new legends and folk stories. Workshops will all take place between June and August - more details can be found on our Hampton Folk Tales page which will be updated with dates very shortly.
