Holiday Club is back for 2022!

27 June 2022

Sign up for Holiday Club 2022

Eastern Angles are very pleased to welcome the return of Holiday Club, a three-week activity programme running from Monday 1st August – Friday 19th August. This will be a free opportunity for young people aged 7-12 years old and who are eligible for free school meals*.

The programme will be split into the following themes, where your young person works with new and exciting artists each week:

Week 1: Time to explore

Monday 1st - Thursday 4th August

Our opening week will focus on activities exploring nature, cultural heritage and being environmentally responsible. We will work closely with Suffolk Libraries, Ipswich Museum, Art Branches Photography and many more.

Week 2: Movement & Mind

Monday 8th - Thursday 11th August

Healthwatch Suffolk reported in My Health, Our Future Phase 5 (2021) that "young people are now less resilient and more likely to have poorer wellbeing compared to 2019, revealing the negative impact of the pandemic on their mental health" (Suffolk County Council, 2022). This week will be all about promoting healthy mental and physical wellbeing. We will work with local organsiations who are experts in dance, art, music and sports.

Week 3: Let's Create

Monday 15th - Friday 19th August

Our final week will focus on theatre and the arts. The young people will create a short piece of theatre based on ‘sense of place’ and what it means to be from Suffolk. They will work with a theatre director to learn key performance and creating skills. This week will end with a performance in our Sir John Mills Theatre in front of family and friends.

"The Nook" will also be open throughout Holiday Club - this will be a quiet space where anyone can take a break, read and relax.

Each day runs from 9.30am-2.23pm, lunch and snacks will be provided.

Holiday Clubs aims to help your child:
