Holiday Club round up

26 August 2022

The dust has slowly settled, the theatre's been tided, and the Eastern Angles Centre feels a lot quieter this week without the energy of all the young people who took part in this year's Holiday Club bouncing around the building. After 3 busy weeks of activities, we’ve taken the past few days to reflect back on this year’s Holiday Club.

Take a look at what the young people got up to...

Looking back at the project, Engagement Officer Jack Tricker said: “It was fantastic to see new and familiar faces jumping into a range of exciting activities over the course of the 3 weeks. The young people really enjoyed themselves and it was great to see them work with a variety of facilitators who ran sessions in clay sculpting, dance, gardening, sports and much more. Our final week ended with a performance of Out of This World, a sci-fi show which welcomed Quint the alien to the county of Suffolk after her ship crashed into a farm in Holbrook. The performance was devised, written and performed by our young people over the space of 5 days and performed in front of family and friends at the end of the week. The performance went down really well and we received fantastic feedback from everyone. We already can’t wait to do it all again this time next year!”

Let's take a look at some of that feedback:

“Erin has enjoyed every moment of Holiday Club and said she never wanted it to end. Thank you for giving her such a great experience. Her confidence has grown so much!”

Parent/carer

“Thank you for making me feel happy.”

Young person

“I think this is a great experience for children.”

Parent/carer
  • 100% of young people made new friends
  • 100% of young people said their overall experience of Holiday Club was good or great
  • 100% of young people said that they would like to return to Eastern Angles to do something else in the future
  • 100% of parents/carers said their child grew in confidence

We’re super proud of this awesome feedback and even more proud of all the young people who joined us this month – hopefully we’ll see you all again soon!
