Holy Mackerel!: Ipswich24
15 December 2015This year's Eastern Angles' festive offering Holy Mackerel is inspired by real-life events that happened in the port of Newlyn in 1896, when Cornish and East Anglian fishermen rioted over fishing rights in the waters off Cornwall.
Trouble is on the horizon in the sleepy Cornish port of Newlyn. East Anglian Fishermen have descended, and to say they don't fit in would be an understatement... Going against everything the people believe in to get their catch - Including fishing on a Sunday not only are the East Anglian's taking their mackerel they are seriously rubbing the locals up the wrong way... However one man can save the day... Norman!
Full of all of the mad-cap humour that we have come to expect from Eastern Angles at Christmas Holy Mackerel is full of song, dance, fast costume changes and many accents!
The talented cast play many characters with ease and in true Eastern Angles' tradition there's a few surprises along the way. For an evening full of fun, madness and mayhem Holy Mackerel meets all expectations. For that feel good feeling this Christmas time this production is a must.
