Introducing the Boost Bursary recipients for Autumn 2024
1 August 2024We're delighted to announce the first four recipients of Boost Bursaries who will be working on some exciting projects with Ipswich arts organisations this Autumn!
Alex Adshead
Alex is currently at Mountview studying to become a Sound Designer for immersive theatre, plays and pantomime. They are also a composer with a big love for horror.
Alex's Boost Bursary Project
Alex is working on A Midsummer Night's Dream as the Associate Sound Designer during rehearsals and tech. They are also the Sound Operator during tech and performances.
Jon Green
Jon is an actor and drama facilitator. He made his professional debut earlier this year in Hare And Tortoise (New Wolsey Theatre) and recently finished touring and recently finished touring and performing Fixing Numberdom (Mercury Theatre).
With over 10 years of experience within the education system, Jon specialises in collaborating alongside young people with a focus on improvisation and voice.
Jon's Boost Bursary Project
As Assistant Director on A Midsummer Night's Dream Jon is working alongside the Director, as well as members of the Creative and Production team, to evolve and coordinate a physical production at the New Wolsey Theatre.
Jack Heydon
Jack is an actor and filmmaker from Suffolk. Growing up in Framlingham, he went on to complete an art foundation degree at Suffolk New College and then was awarded the Andrew Lloyd Webber Scholarship to study a BA in Musical Theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He works professionally as an actor for companies such as Red Rose Chain and The Barn Theatre, Cirencester and was awarded the Young Filmmaker of the Year Award at the Glasgow Short Film Festival 2022, as well as the Special Recognition Award at the Lowestoft Film Festival for his short film PRACTICE. He is currently performing in Red Rose Chain's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Jack's Boost Bursary Project
The Boost Bursary will allow him to lead a project creating a portfolio of documentary films following Red Rose Chain's four community theatre groups; highlighting the work they do for disadvantaged and disabled young people and adults, and the positive effect that these groups have on people's lives.
Kate Lankester
Kate is a 24 year old Trans performer. She has been performing in theatres since the age of six with The Co-op Junior Theatre company, she went on to graduate from a 1-year course at Evolution Foundation College (2017) which enabled her to gain a DaDA in a 3-year diploma from Laine Theatre Arts, graduating in 2021. Thereafter she made her successful professional debut in Hope Mill's Rent the Musical (2021).
Since then she has been working with Suffolk Pride as their Press Officer, promoting and producing events for the LGBTQIA+ Community and Allies of Suffolk, encouraging and advocating support for vulnerable minority communities.

Kate's Boost Bursary is enabling her to gain meaningful career development experience in Producing and Practicity Creative Community Engagement.
