Forty Years On is seeking a freelance education consultant to assist with the development and creation of educational materials for KS2 and KS3 using the records of the Peterborough Development Corporation and the oral history archive of the Forty Years On project.
This would involve:
- Facilitating face-to-face or virtual sessions with local schools and organisations to establish the content and form of materials that the learning resource should include (1.5 days)
- Working with project staff to develop and write activities, schemes of work and produce themed packs of material based on recommendations (4.5 days)
- Evaluating use of material in a teaching environment, through attendance of classes or interviews with teaching staff to suggest future improvements (1 days)
It is envisaged that this study should take no more than 7 days to complete, and that the total fee (including expenses) should not exceed £1600.
Ideally you will have experience of teaching or within an archives/local studies environment and will have devised activities or content suitable for the KS2 or KS3 curriculum.

About Forty Years On
Forty Years On is a three year project (2011-2014) run in partnership by Vivacity Peterborough Culture and Leisure and Eastern Angles Theatre Company which explores the development of Peterborough since 1968.
Main project activities include:
- The conservation and cataloguing of over 400 boxes of Peterborough Development Corporation material within Peterborough Local Studies and Archives.
- The building of an oral history archive of over 150 interviews with ex-PDC employees, original residents and people who relocated here from the UK and beyond.
- Production of a documentary play in 2013 focussing on the work of the PDC, featuring oral history and archive research.
The Forty Years On archive consists of audio, video, photographs and thousands of original documents that show the city's development.
