Louis de Bernieres helps boost funds!
9 June 2013Eastern Angles took another important step towards their £100,000 fundraising target last night. A packed audience at a special charity event held at the Sir John Mills Theatre and sponsored by Larking Gowen Accountants raised over £1,500 which will be partly matched by Arts Council England bringing in a total of over £2,000.
This money will help Eastern Angles tour future theatre work across the Eastern region and beyond. The event, an evening of music and conversation with acclaimed author Louis de Bernieres, was hosted by Eastern Angles' Artistic Director Ivan Cutting.
Ivan said, "We are really grateful to Louis for giving up his time to help us raise funds in this way. This is just one of a number of initiatives we have on the go at the moment. In addition to last night's event we also have a Murder Mystery Evening coming up in July and we've just begun an important telephone fundraising campaign too. Our audiences have shown tremendous support for our fundraising efforts - we can't thank them enough for what they have done so far. And the fact that Eastern Angles were able to secure a Catalyst match funding grant shows the level of confidence the Arts Council have in us too!"
