OPERA FOR A DYING WORLD R&D WORKSHOP CALL OUT

3 March 2025

Award winning performance artist, LOUISE ORWIN, is looking for a group of young people who would like to participate in an exciting and playful week-long workshop (7th - 11th April) as research and development for their new show: OPERA FOR A DYING WORLD.  This show is a live art opera which looks at stories, role models and narratives traditionally found in operas to ask how relevant they are today.  We’re particularly interested In exploring the roles of tragic heroines and this will include looking at opera’s obsession with their tragic and sometimes ridiculous deaths!

We’re looking for 14-18 year old teenage girls, and femme/non-binary teens who are interested in theatre.  No previous experience is required and you don’t have to be able to sing.  You just need an enthusiasm for theatre/performing, play, exploration and having fun!  This is free to participate in and will be hosted in central Ipswich.

For further information please see the flyer attached and reach out to Cassie at producer@louiseorwin.com for how to get involved.
