Julian Haries has pitched his latest bit of nonsense in the 19^th century Wild West but, never fear, this Eastern Angles Christmas show is well up to scratch - rootin' tootin' magnificent madness but still as seasonally English as mince pies and mulled wine.

The rural dean of Suffolk has given Thadeus Combs the onerous task of taking the word to the lawless gun-slingers of Mad Dog Creek and they'll never know what hit them.   If Clint Eastwood and Serge Leone ever lay hands on this script they'll make a fortune.

Stefan Atkinson's Parson Combs is a delight and author Julian Harries' big-hatted baddie a wonder of crazy and clever one-liners.   Elizabeth Piper's bargirl Belle is the best OTT southern accent I've heard in a long time and Eleanor Brunsdon does Doris Day better than she does.   Phillip Michell races from part to part like a mad thing and has the marvelously funny task of playing two people at the same time.

If you're in need of a really good laugh do not miss this good thing.
