Patient Light returns

11 August 2022

This Autumn we’re taking Patient Light to secondary schools across Peterborough!

After previewing at the Undercroft last year, this Autumn we’re rebooting Simon Longman’s audio play Patient Light and taking it on a schools tour. Following the day in the life of a young person in Peterborough, Patient Light explores how their vision of the future is blinded by carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Although set in Peterborough, the story could be from almost any town in the country as it examines the feelings of anxiety and social pressure common to young people across the country. Three voices come together to examine the human need for aspiration and how to use the world’s frustrations to your advantage.

Patient Light is a unique audio-sensory experience, providing audiences with a new perspective of what theatre can mean and look like. Students will listen to the show on headphones and experience an immersive sound design using binaural technology. We will also lead workshops with students that will reflect on the theatre experience and explore the themes of the show.
