A striking new play that sheds new light on the life of our best-loved ‘peasant poet'
In September 2012 Eastern Angles premiered a new play by Tony Ramsay, author of The Bluethroat, Message From Neptune, The Anatomist and Bentwater Roads. Commissioned by the John Clare Trust, Ramsay's new work, The Long Life and Great Good Fortune of John Clare, was performed in the atmospheric surroundings of John Clare Cottage, the poet's former home in Helpston, near Peterborough.
The production was such as success that we have decided to take the show on the road. So, now audiences across the East of England will have the chance to see this fascinating new play too!
