We're hiring! Associate Director (Engagement and Participation)

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director (Engagement and Participation) to take a lead role in making sure Eastern Angles provides an accessible and welcoming environment for young people, community groups and audiences to interact with the company. We are seeking someone who is confident in working with people in a facilitation role and as a theatre director, who can be a warm and consistent point of contact at events for children, young people and artists who may experience barriers to access.
You will provide support and opportunities for people to engage with the company, including audiences attending our shows, our associate artists, board and other staff and volunteers as required.
You will have a creative role in developing bespoke supporting resources for all public-facing activity. You will support the company in implementing best practice in access and wellbeing for all, which is part of our commitment to Radical Hospitality, the “practice of putting extraordinary effort and emphasis on making people feel welcome [...] and breaking down barriers that prevent people from participating in an effort, campaign, or community”, which underpins our work.
This post is open to applicants who have an understanding and appreciation of barriers to working in the arts.

In Ipswich, across East Anglia and Peterborough, we stage a wide range of socially-engaged, local and international stories. We’re looking for a proactive Associate Director (Engagement and Participation) to play a vital role in that mission.
