Young People's Art Workshops have been taking place since February with artists Lily Hammond, Frederico Ramos, Verity Slade, Keith Hopewell and Nikki Goldup for young people from local organisations in Ipswich including Acycle (African and Caribbean Youth Creative Learning Experience), Karibu Supplementary School, The Kurdish Mosque Youth Group, as well as young people at The Hive and Eastern Angles Centre. The workshops were designed to create ideas for the final artwork and give young people involved an opportunity to inspire the community through public art.
Everyone is welcome to come and take part in the painting of the murals, volunteers who wish to help with painting will need to register online for time slots. Each time slot is 3 hours long starting at 10am and 2pm.
The 3 murals will be painted on the hoardings on St. Peters Dock at the entrance to Ipswich Waterfront.
This project is supported by the Covid Continuity Fund for Culture and is part of Hulaballo22.
