Young People's Art Workshops have been taking place since February with artists Lily Hammond, Frederico Ramos, Verity Slade, Keith Hopewell and Nikki Goldup for young people from local organisations in Ipswich including Acycle (African and Caribbean Youth Creative Learning Experience), Karibu Supplementary School, The Kurdish Mosque Youth Group, as well as young people at The Hive and Eastern Angles Centre. The workshops were designed to create ideas for the final artwork and give young people involved an opportunity to inspire the community through public art.
The 3 murals will be painted on the hoardings on St. Peters Dock at the entrance to Ipswich Waterfront.
An official launch of the murals will take place in the morning of Saturday the 28th May 2022, at 10am at St.Peters Dock. Press are invited to join Art Eat along with special guests, artists and participants to celebrate the new street art for Ipswich.
This project is supported by the Covid Continuity Fund for Culture and is part of Hulaballo22.
