Book Eastern Angles for Performances & Workshops

16 May 2018

This Autumn we will be re-touring our 2017 production of Everything Must Go into schools, colleges and Care Homes across East Anglia. Read on to find out how you can book a performance and/or workshop for your pupils or residents...

When Tom takes his Nan on a nostalgic road trip around Suffolk, her bittersweet memories of a life lived behind various shop counters leave her grandson with food for thought….

Eastern Angles has 35 year’s experience of creating theatre based on the real-life experiences of local people. Everything Must Go was inspired by interviews with elderly Care Home residents and focuses on their funny and fascinating memories of shops and shopping. This poignant 50-minute play shows how oral history, innovative staging and imaginative storytelling can form the basis for exciting and authentic performance and original creative writing.

“This performance was perfectly pitched for our pupils – it really fired their imagination and made them think about using their own family history as inspiration for their writing”

“I liked having the chance to talk to the actors afterwards. It was really interesting to find out how they made the play”

“It was amazing the way the actors changed character and played so many different parts. I found out lots of stuff I didn’t know but it was also very entertaining”

We are also touring Everything Must Go to Care Homes and Sheltered Accommodation settings. The nostalgic memories of village stores and early supermarket shopping are a fantastic trigger for reminiscence. After the show, the audience are encouraged to share their own thoughts and memories of shops and shopping!
