Eastern Angles Added to HighTide Festival

20 August 2018

We're delighted to announce that Eastern Angles will be part of HighTide Festival in Aldeburgh this year.

On Sunday 16th September, we will be performing a rehearsed read-through of The Tide Jettyby Tony Ramsay. This will be the first exclusive glimpse at our Spring Tour show for 2019.

What's it all about? Take a read of the synopsis below...

The 1860s. Two brothers, Tucky and Nathan grow up on the banks of Breydon Water alongside tomboy, Eliza. The three of them are inseparable. As they grow older the inevitable happens…Eliza turns into a woman and they both fall for her. But tragedy tears the trio apart and years later it is time to discover the truth of what really happened…

This thought-provoking play explores what we treasure and how and why we preserve it.  Written by Tony Ramsay, whose previous plays include The Anatomist (“A vision of the past pregnant with the present” Time Out) and Bentwater Roads (“an engrossing drama from the numerous pasts lurking around it”  The Times), the play will be touring next year to locations in the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads plus many of Eastern Angles’ traditional spring tour venues from March 2019.

We are excited to be working with the Broads Authority on the Water, Mills and Marshes project, funded through the Heritage Lottery Fund. This fantastic project will run until December 2022 offering people a whole range of events and activities designed to explore and celebrate the incredible Broads National Park landscape and through drama to ask questions about its sustainability.
