The Undercroft Weekender Information

The Undercroft Weekender kicks off on Friday and runs through til Sunday this week! It's a free family festival outside Serpentine Green Shopping Centre with a variety of activity from live music, face painting, theatre and sports to magic, poetry and film.

The Undercroft Weekender will take place here outside Serpentine Green Shopping Centre. There will be the Eastern Angles Pavilion on site, plus stalls from CSK Church and Peterborough Presents

The Venues

The Undercroft Weekender is taking place on Silver Hill outside Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Peterborough (pictured above left). The postcode for Serpentine Green is PE7 8BE. The Eastern Angles Pavilion (pictured right) will be on site where some of the theatre and poetry events will be taking place. There are outside events also happening on Silver Hill green such as Suitcase Shakespeare,  Frumenty Folk Band and Pilates Taster Session. 

The Undercroft Theatre will also be holding events, this is located inside Serpentine Green on the right hand side of the Silver Hill/Hampton entrance. If entering Serpentine Green from the main car park, go into the shopping centre, head towards the food court, go down the escalators or lift and The Undercroft will be on your left. Take a look at the video below if you're unsure of where to go. You can also follow the giant orange footsteps to the venue. (Pictured above right).

Studio 4 in The Undercroft will be open for Korpfest Paint Jam where 20 of the UK's finest street artists will be painting murals live. Plus see exhibitions Cut, Spray & Pray and What Hampton Means to Me.

The Eastern Angles Pavilion is a dome structure which will be up on Silver Hill outside Serpentine Green Shopping Centre. Events taking place here include Mark Grist: Down with the Poetry King, There Be Giants and Family Relaxation with Drolma.

Car Parking

Serpentine Green Shopping Centre has a free car park with large and accessible spaces available. The car park is 24 hours on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the car park shuts at 4.30pm when all the activities for The Undercroft Weekender finish. 


Food & Drinks

The Undercroft Bar will be serving drinks during the day. Please note the bar is cash only. There are Tesco cash points near Boots if you need to get cash out. 

Food will not be provided at the festival. There are plenty of food and drink shops inside Serpentine Green including Costa Coffee, M&S Food, Tesco, Boots and the Food Court which includes Burger King, Tesco Cafe and Sub Xpress. We welcome and encourage picnics on Silver Hill, especially on Sunday where we will have The Big Picnic and Magic While You Munch with Ricky Locke.

Toilets

There are free toilets inside Serpentine Green, up the escalator, through the food court and on the left. 


The Undercroft Weekender Prices

Entry to The Undercroft Weekender is FREE. Some events are ticketed with prices from £2-£6.

These events are cash only on the day. If you need cash, simply go into Serpentine Green to the Tesco cash points near Boots. You can pre-book or turn up on the door. We recommend booking to ensure you have a place at the ticketed events. All other events at the festival are free. See all the events here. 


Timings of Events - For the full schedule, click here. 

Friday 26th July, 6.30pm - 9.15pm: There Be Giants first show starts 6.30pm - 7.15pm. There'll be a Behind the Scenes of Eastern Angles Talk at 7.30pm - 8.15pm. The second showing of There Be Giants starts at 8.30pm - 9.15pm.

Saturday 27th July, 10am-9.30pm: Silhouette Selfies Workshop and There Be Giants kicks off the festival at 10am followed by a full day of activity until Alice Howard and Georgia Evans perform live with Unplugged at The Undercroft from 7.30pm - 9.30pm.

Sunday 28th July, 10am-4pm: Family Relaxation with the Drolma Centre at the Pavilion and Pilates Taster Session on Silver Hill start at 10am for a chill-out day at The Undercroft Weekender. Activities run through until 4pm.
